Favourite Pokemon? (forgive me if this exists!)

Hm, may I ask; has Pokemon ever evolved the formula beyond "catch 'em all" and fighting team Rocket and beating Gym leaders? I played the original Pokemon, but the lack of story left me with a lack of motivation to continue playing so I gave it away. So many people seem to love the games though, I have to wonder what it is they're seeing that I'm missing

But from what I've seen I would have to agree that the variations on Pikachu are all darn cute

The newest game, from what I've heard, supposedly actually has a good storyline. I'm a skeptic. >_>

The main draw Pokémon has on me is the competitive play-- especially now that it's so easy to play with other people over Wi-Fi.

Arcanine is easily my favourite, it's a hybrid of a tiger and a dog ffs. that spits fire. that is just awesome.

also, Dragonite, just because it wrecks everything. repeatedly solo'd the elite 4 on Diamond with mine.

You might think I would say Raichu. And you would be clever to think so, except there is one pokemon that I love more.

Gardevoir, Celebi, Jirachi, Togekiss, and I have to say I'm rather fond of this new one, here.

We sure share quite a few favourites.

Besides the one's Momiji said, there's Blastoise, Nidoking, Lanturn, Politoed, Tyranitar, Breloom, Flygon, Lucario, Cherrim, Rampardos, Rotom, Warubiaru (ganster crocodile ftw), Abagoora, and Shanderaa.

Like Momiji already mentioned, competitive play is what attracts lots of people (including me). Pokemon is suprisingly well suited for advanced competitive play.

I never really thought about this, but I might have to say Gyarados is my favorite. Starting off as a simple Magikarp into a mighty beast that is Gyarados.

Finally someone with good tastes! Screw the cute pokemon and give my Gyarados anyday.


...yeah, Gyarados is my fav.

I also really like Scizor, Gardevoir, Metagross and Heracross.
