"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 1)" Is Near!

Part 1 is barely a month away, and I'm seriously looking forward to this movie like no other movie I have ever looked forward to.

Finished the book not too long ago, and I personally think that it is by far the best book in the Harry Potter series. It's everything a good book should be, and I am SO glad that they decided to split the movie into two, just so that they wouldn't miss out on anything of real importance. But my experience teaches that love isn't always cream and peaches, meaning that they probably will.

In my opinion, they completely butchered "Half-Brood Prince", so let's hope that this time it will be different, which I honestly believe that it will.

I had a dream about this movie like 10 minutes ago, for some reason all the centaurs were drawn like disney's hercules characters.

Anyway Im also really excited (but cautiously optimistic) and want to see it on opening day except it comes out during my exams

Having loved all the movies, I was seriously sidelined by how much they left out of "Half-Blood". So, I too, am cautiously optimistic about these two movies. That being said, the book is such an incredibly experience, that would be near-damn impossible to frack it up.

It wont be in 3D They couldn't finish on time the 3D alterations but it will be done for part 2. But part one wont have 3D.

Really? The first two movies were too faithful in my opinion, which led to a very boring cinematic structure. The first decent adaption was Prisoner of Azkaban.

I don't require my favorite books to be adapted word for word as films, because they almost never work out that way.

I should've said four, I forgot that I did like Azkaban, but I can't remember how 2 was. It doesn't have to be word for word. They put things in the movies that weren't even in the books often, and I heard movie 6 had a random scene.

Deadly Hallows? I thought it was Deathly Hallows. Or is that just for the American release like Sorcerer's Stone instead of Philosopher's Stone?

I'm excited but I find it silly that they're making two movies out of the last book, the book that probably has the least happen in it.

.......seriously? Aside of perhaps The Color Purple, the Harry Potter films have been some of the most faithful well done adaptations I've ever seen. Even J.K. Rowling said she was incredibly pleased with how well they've been done. But opinions I guess.

Daniel Radcliffe is doing nude plays and stuff, but aside of that you're probably right.

Not that they'll need careers anymore, since they already have more money than they'll ever need.

Everything below is a spoiler. You have been warned.

Some things concern me. They've left out certain things in the series which will have a potential impact on the final movie. Dobby's reoccurring role from the books has been completely elided; consequently, his big scene in the final book will be largely devoid of emotional impact without having to rely on the book for context. There are other such problems: the fifth movie left out the scene in which the characters find the locket in Grimmauld Place which none of them are able to open. Similarly, the explanation for the history of the horcrux ring is absent in the sixth movie.

I'm all fine for an adaptation being an adaptation, but there are some things about the movies that bother me. Editorial license is all fine and great, but the screenwriters have done a pretty awful job since the fourth movie onward. I know that Rowling has been largely quiet on most things (she insisted they include Kreacher's little 30-second introduction in the fifth movie, and that's about it), but there are certain things that they should have figured out. So many people had figured out the locket thing, but the screenwriters couldn't pick up on it. It's nothing that they won't be able to fix with any degree of difficulty, but it's still unnecessary that they went and added random scenes at the cost of taking out important scenes.

I'm cautiously optimistic now that they can't possibly miss what's important.

I would have given up after two disappointing films in a row, why on earth did you stick around if you kept hating them?

Anyway I suspect this will be like the previous films, competently done, not bad by any means, but lacking that spark that a great adaptation has.

I must admit that I love all of the movies up until "Half-Blood Prince". That particular movie was butchered, and it felt incredibly rushed.

My favorite movie so far is "Goblet of Fire", which I thought was almost bordering perfection.
