MSN Messenger smilies went from bad to worse!

So MSN Messenger, right. Windows Live ditto, if you will. They just pushed out a new version with quite a lot of new stuff. Like always when important things like websites or messengers change you're like "NO NO NO" and then you make threads about how they should have just stayed the same forever.

Now, I don't tend to complain about Facebook's changes like a lot of people. I enjoyed the new version of Google Images from the start. Wikipedia made some changes I didn't care for, but I didn't make a fuss about it. Now, this new Messenger update has a lot of good things going for it when you get past the initial shock! But look, ma, look what they did to the smilies




I can't believe it. MSN's default smilies were one of my least favourite parts of the client. Now they've managed to actually make them WORSE.

I feel like this is an important topic which must be discussed at length.

I don't know what you're complaining about - MSN is known for their attractive smilies. They look wonderful to me.

I didnt mind the old smilies but I really dont like these new ones.

Those smilies are terrible. And that ninja is just a poor ripoff of IPB's .

MSN used to use smilies similar to what AIM had, small, functional, and cute. Ever since they started using these bloated disasters I've had emotes turned off. I think it started with version 5 of messenger or something. This change doesn't surprise me and they honestly don't look a lot different from the ones they just changed from. They're still bloated horrific disasters

I always end up having problems with the client so I ended up getting Trillian instead. :\

On top of the awful smurfing smilies, when I updated last night the program didn't even want to work properly. I started it and signed in... then nothing.

I had to uninstall it, restart my computer, then install it again for it to work properly. Then I was blasted with that Godawful mess of a window.

Switch to compact view and it's not so bad In fact apart from the smilies I'm liking the update.

They completely ruined the only good smiley they had -- which was the cool face sunglasses smiley.
