    Default OMG I FEEL ILLEGALZ

Passports, passports, passports. Renewing my passport is proving to be the most difficult task I have ever undertaken. Not to mention - it's over 80 pounds, (and going up more soon.) Because I haven't renewed my passport since I was like seven I look nothing like the picture, which means I can't just renew it. I have to get someone in some sort of official position of something or other to sign it and give their passport number and say I'm actually a real person and not some secret Martian trying to infiltrate planet Earth. My doctor will charge me 30 pounds for this. So I'm going about it every single way I can in order to not pay this money. I may end up getting an old teacher or something to sign it, hopefully they do it for free. Then they get some sort of present in thanks.
It's gotten silly, the whole identity thing. Or has it? I don't know. Do you think it's good and that it helps national security? Do you think it should be even TIGHTER SECURITIED, like you have to cut out both your eyeballs and stick them onto a piece of paper and send it to the prime minister for examination? Wait, that would be ridiculous. Or would it? How precious do you think eyeballs are? And in the name of national security, what do you think of the system? I heard loads of stuff about ID things that is meant to happen in the near future but I forgot it all, it would be pretty useful to say now, shame. I got mine renewed a month ago, only to find out the wedding was posponed so that was a complete waste & if i had done it now, i could of gotten a few more years till it had to be renewed next time. But my GP did it for free because i was 15, though the piece of work did try to charge me!

it helps national security as in helping the government keep tight control over the mainly retarded population which doesn't really mind having their freedoms and privacy taken away.

I heard at my old place of work, instead of having regular old clock-in cards, they now have a fingerprint activated scan to make sure who's actually clocking in and out is actually there.
And it's not even some crazy ridiculous underground facility,it's just a movie theater.
As far as passports go, I've only had to renew it once in between my first one when I was about 4 and then a couple years ago when I was around 16.
I don't remember it being that difficult though other than taking a new picture and ordering something in the mail.

My passport expired last year, I think.

I don't mind showing identification on any occasion, though.

Worst part of not having an up to date passport is the fact that I turned 18 in April, don't have a provisional licence, shops/pubs round here don't accept any other forms of ID other than those two, so basically even though I'm 18 I still have to sneak around, get my friends to buy my alcohol for me, pour shop bought drinks into an empty pint glass under the table...much the same as I did before I was 18. FRUSTRATEZ.
When I finally get it renewed I'm gonna be a happy guy.

There's no such thing as a non-drivers Photo ID over there? I'm epically frustrated for you right now.

My passport's about 8 years old. I do plan to travel sometime next year so I'd better get that sorted out.

Nop you already started. I want stories.

I managed to destroy my passport once. I basically left it in the wash. And even then I still have a passport to this day because I'm not a total clutz and know to go to a lawyer to get these things done.

    A winrar is me.mp3

ps: why do you need a passport?

I have a plain ID and my driver's license. They don't do that over there?

I COULD pay out about 55 pounds for a provisional driving licence, which would serve as ID. But, 55 pounds isn't far off 80ish pounds, which is how much renewing a passport costs. So I would rather spend the money on a passport, because it means I can actually leave the country if I want, and it's also good for ID, and lasts the next 10 years which means I don't have to worry about it for a long time.
The ID thing is really over the top, there ARE other types like 'Bite cards' that schools give out for free and stuff, but no place accepts them as ID, because they say they're too easy to fake.
Other than passports/provisional licences, there's no ID.
