That was me. It was the only way I could think of to contact you since you used to be banned.

Good to see you Roto --Certainly one of the few remaining familiar faces 'round here for me. I myself have been on something of a 1-2 year hiatus from EoFF. Let's see...

    - officially dropped out of college due to dogged indecision and lack of funds
    - became a nasm certified physical trainer
    - fell out of grace with and severed ties with my best friend of six years (since HS)
    - made some new friends (a milestone for me)
    - got laid
    - have been a dependable stand-in for the role "mildy creepy twenty-something guy getting drunk alone in a bar"
    - started my own science/religion/anything-I-feel-like-posting blog
    - met Richard Dawkins at a lecture over his latest book
    - largely shifted my focus away from videogames and more towards knowledge and reading ( most harrowingly foregoing my love for rpgs ... they just take up too much time. I got about halfway through FFXIII before relinquishing my attention to more pressing issues. I was enjoying my playthrough however short-lived it was; seemed worthy of the Final Fantasy name ... unlike its immediate predecessor.)

...yeah, all in all I've seen better times.

You know, Roto, I've been thinking lately.

You really should play Metroid games. Metroid: Other M is supremely linear. There's no way you could get lost. The same is true for Metroid Fusion, and although Metroid Zero Mission isn't linear, you are very easily led to statues that tell you exactly where to go. The Metroid Prime games lead you along a lot, too, although Metroid Prime 3 is easily the most linear out of those three just because you're always getting commands via radio, and Primes 1 and 2 have hint systems if the game can tell that you're hopelessly lost. I think you just got turned off by Super Metroid and Metroid 2's open gameplay. Although, in some ways, Metroid 2 was really pretty linear, too. I mean, you just had to kill all the Metroids in a certain area and then move on to the next one. Then just consider the upgrades you've obtained to figure out how to get to the next place. But, you still need the will to adventure if you're going to play that, I think.

But yeah, most of the Metroid games out right now are hard to get lost in. Go play them. Start with Other M for maximum not-able-to-get-lost-ness.

I've never liked Castleroid games and I'm probably not going to start liking them any time soon. :P I might pick up Other M sometime, though, since it's apparently incredibly linear.

If you're going the right way, the doors lock behind you. If you go the wrong way--

Wait, there is no wrong way.

Edit: And you should definitely try out Metroid Prime 3. It's only slightly less linear, really.

I didn't even know you were banned. Shows how little I pay attention.

I graduated college. That really is pretty much it.

Well, everyone's been quite busy with their lives! As have I.
    -started tenth grade
-got my first boyfriend, first kiss, yada yada.
    -got broken up with unjustly
-got a 101 in Latin for the first marking period.
-joined my taekwondo demo team for the upcoming tournament
    -went to some taekwondo tournaments
-went to sleepovers and friends' houses nearly every day
-continuing my work on my school's radio
-joined the Indian dance group at my school because my friends coerced me

And yeah. That's been my life in the past few months. Ain't it grand?

Indian dancing is so pretty. The moves, the music, the clothes, it's all great.

Okay, not much of any importance to report about:

    - Finally got a job I have been able to endure, and I am still enduring it, which is quite a feat considering my track record.

    - Turned up my work-out schedule, and got quite buff and according to some, frightfully skinny.

    - Oh, I finally managed to crawl my way back here after four years, which I am grateful for. I missed a lot of you guys.

I grin at how painfully blasé my life is at times.

I cooked for Caesar Millan from the Dog Whisperer yesterday. He drank two glasses of wine at 11 in the morning, had two bowls of my homemade chili with 4 over medium eggs and signed our menu.

I asked him about my mom's dog who is ridiculously stupid and he said in these exact words, "Maybe it's not the dog who's stupid, but the owners own neglect which is a reflection of the dogs stupidity." I agreed with him wholeheartedly.

    Good guy.
