    Default Woo Grammy

Apparently this song from Civilization IV was nominated for a Grammy. This is the first time a song from a game has been nominated. It's hard to get too excited, though, since Civ IV came out in 2009 and this song is only now being recognized because it was on Christopher Tin's new solo album this year. :P

wouldn't it be cool if that song won an award and Kanye West suddenly came in to take it away?

I hope that Christopher Tin and Baba Yetu win the award and it brings more attention to video game music in the mainstream media.

Hopefully this doesnt bring about another phase where designers decide they want "real" musicians to compose their music.

Sounds like you feel it's gone badly in the past. What games or composers do you have in mind?

So was this song wasn't given an award because it was on Civilization IV, but because it was on this composer's new album?
