Didn't listen to a lot of new music this year. Of the new albums I can recall, my favourites are both metal:

    Enslaved - Axioma Ethica Odini
    Ihsahn - After

Of course, Shpongle's Ineffable Mysteries is still king, despite having come out in mid-09.

I got lost somewhere in time, and have not been able to really get into anything since the 90's. I might hear a song now and again that sounds decent, but don't know the name and would not buy a cd. I tried to give new music a shot and tuned into the radio to find a bunch of pop and country that almost sounds like pop, and it scared me. Is rock dead? I'm just waiting for a new sound to come along and destroy and bury this rubbish. Maybe my radio stations just suck here.

Brothers by the Black Keys and Transference by Spoon were pretty awesome.

Lady Gaga - The Fame Monster

it's not like the last 20 years have brought that many great albums in popular music anyway
This twenty-year-old boy was distinguished from childhood by strange qualities, a dreamer and an eccentric. A girl fell in love with him, and he went and sold her to a brothel...

Try looking somewhere that isn't your average radio station.

I got XM for another two months, I may scope that out better before the trial ends.

This year was pretty amazing music wise, for me anyway.

Frightened Rabbit - The Winter of Mixed Drinks
    Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
Cold War Kids - Behave Yourself (EP)
    Vampire Weekend - Contra
    The Black Keys - Brothers
    Spoon - Transference

but then... Stone Temple Pilots had to take my hopes and dreams and dash them on sharp, nasty, pointed rocks with whatever that thing was they released. I wanted that to be a good record so bad I physically hurt. But... at least the Stones re-released Exile on Main Street. Concessions must be made I guess. Sorry STP.

Edit: Man, how did I forget. Return of Massive Attack with Heligoland. Amazing.

One more: The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monae. I almost can't just listen to one song, have to finish it each time and still am not tired of it.
Boy am I an unfunny ass.
