Default Anyone ever tried completing FFI without upgrading your jobs?

I was wondering if anyone ever tried completing FFI without upgrading your jobs. If so, does it make more challenging?

    Vaan - "Hey, you!"
Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
    Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"

If only because your mages can't buy higher-level spells if you don't upgrade their classes (I also think it affects what weapons/ armor you can buy). If you level-up enough, though, you shouldn't have a problem.

"It is a well-known fact that all heroes in all tales disliked vegetables as children.
Their legend begins with their overcoming of this weakness, and then continues with a journey filled with hardships.
That noble vegetable, the onion, lives on as a symbol of hardships overcome, and as the mark of a true hero.
    "

I haven't tried it, but it most certainly would. I don't know about stats, but there would be a lot of equipment you couldn't use.

Nope. Never knew you could either, but I might give it a try the next time I play it.

If you're playing a party of four monks on the NES version, you'll benefit by not class changing. Everything is equal pre and post class change with monks except magic defense. Before class change, they get +4 or 5 per level. After class change, +1. Yep - they get worse.
    Knock yourselves down.

I've still yet to finish it. I always read about the class change but never actually did it.
    I like Kung-Fu.

No, I haven't. I am now sorely tempted to try.

Yep. And with only one character.
Anything can be done with a Defense, a Ribbon and a Heal Staff.

Me too. Where the hell do you upgrade your job? And why exactly?

I think I did so with my 4 monk playthrough but I can't remember now.

To get a job change you have to get the rat tail from the Castle of Ordeals and then bring it to King Bahumut who's on the island with two holes in it. It makes most classes better in stats and allows them to equip higher level gear and use higher level magic.

Sadly no. I can never resist an early class change because I'm a greedy tosser.

I always class change because it makes my party better. The four monks example is a good one though; I'd probably try and avoid it then

They see me rolling. They hating, patrolling.
Trying to catch me riding dirty.
