How to use the Final Fantasy V Translation Patch

I downloaded the patch. When I started it up on ZSNES, it was just a black screen, even though it wasn't a bad rom.

That sounds like the ROM was not patched properly or the ROM is not loading properly. Why don't you look for a ROM that already includes the English translation?

I recommend downloading or purchasing the Gameboy Advance version of the game as it is fully translated with modern localization standards.
