does brand of speaker matter if you'll be using a headphone?

question above.. i need an external speaker to toggle the volume of my lcd tv when using headphones as i can't control the volume on my tv. if i'll be using headphones should i buy a decent speaker or cheap ones will do? i mean if the headphone is great does the speaker matter (not planning on using it without headphones)

It's your audiocard that produces the sound for your headphones, not the speakers. It all depends on what gain you want through the speaker set, but since I doubt that you'll want to blow out your ears, cheap ones will do.
