OH SO IT WAS BAD WHEN I HATED DANY BUT NOW EVERYONE IS TIRED OF HER FOR smurf'S SAKE I HATE YOU ALL EOFF
Haha, Noctis, during the brothel scene I thought to myself, "Noctis is gonna be happy! He's porking ladies and dudes!"
During the end scene when I saw that Arya got her horse and Sandor got his chicken I said to Denmark, "A happy ending for everyone involved!" Lul.
Pretty good opening episode. The version of Rains of Castamere in the first scene, and the closing rendition of the theme song were both GORGEOUS. Love.
Is there supposed to be a bit of a time lapse between the end of season 3 and the beginning of season 4? The dragons have tripled in size and they're out of the desert.
The title of the episode was aptly titled, "Two Swords", but so far we only saw Jaime's... currently unnamed sword. Why wasn't the other sword shown?
I really like Styr. To see him intimidate Tormund was impressive as smurf. I also loved the return of a few hated characters we haven't seen since S1/2. Alliser Thorne and Janos Slynt. I thought it was a typical and brilliant GoT episode. Not too much action besides the Hound kicking ass, but from a storytelling standpoint, it was magnificent. This isn't The Walking Dead where it has to be action packed to grip anybody. Their strength is in storytelling, so I personally hate it when people think an episode is lackluster because 590282090 people weren't put to the sword.
Hahahaha. I'm shocked anybody hates her to be honest. I thought I was the only one. I'm sick of her being promoted as one of the lead characters in this series. It's ONLY because the actress is beautiful, I swear. And you're right, I was certainly happy. I was concerned they wouldn't show it, and especially not this early. Bit bold when they're trying to give people a good first impression on who this Prince is. But they kinda swept it under the rug immediately by showing how vicious the Red Viper is. Well done, HBO.
Charles Dance/Tywin is severely underrated. I find him one of the most important influences in the series.
The other sword was Arya's.
I still don't understand the Dany hate. In fact I look forward to her scenes.
I may be bias.
Dat Jorah.
I am biased to Jorah since I heard him use his real voice in that spoilers vid freed posted.
I don't hate her, other characters are just stealing the spotlight from her for me right now.
After season 3's ending, I'm actually excited to see what comes next with Dany. Yeah, I SAID IT.
I'm just a little annoyed that I've gotten so much trout for not liking Dany (not just Emilia Clarke, but her character/storyline as well) and I got so much trout for it. And now everyone in this thread is all "Eh, she's boring now, I don't like her." It's dumb.
Mine comes from reading A Dance with Dragons between the seasons which caused an ever-growing sense of dread every time a chapter with her name came up![]()
...
I'm not the biggest Daenerys fan, but I don't hate her. I found some of her chapters really boring, though.
Anyway, here's a A Book-to-TV Chart for Events from S04E01: "Two Swords"
WARNING FOR SPOILERS UP THROUGH BOOK 5 (ADWD).
I was wondering how they would handle that. Just merge the two books together and handle it chronologically across two seasons?
...
I understand the dislike/hatred of Dany around this time in the show/book but not from the very beginning. (SPOILER)She has very few interesting parts and most of it is just a girl trying to play at being a queen, rather than character development on par with certain other characters. I still enjoy her character both in the show and book, but I can understand where people come from with the hatred.
The episode was overall very good for an opener and the last scene was pretty flawless. When they first announced it, I didn't really get how they were going to bring the show to a close in 2017 but with the mash-ups happening from ACOK, ASOS and AFFC, I guess it makes a certain amount of sense.
I don't think Dany is boring, but I enjoyed her arc in S1 more so than the other seasons. I think this season has more potential for her to grow and mature.
