While Joffrey's death was already pretty mortifying, I kind of wish GRRM (who wrote the episode) went the extra mile of ASOS detailhaving him claw at his throat.

Also, even though he's a little trout that a lot of us wished death upon from the beginning, I found kind of unsettling, in the books, the fact that he was still just a kid... 13 y.o. or something. That and the "deaths" of Bran and Rickon in S2/ACOK were pretty horrifying.

Going into season four with the trailers I thought Sansa was going to be the one to poison Joffrey, but her character doesn't seem to have experienced enough growth yet to get to that point. I wasn't expecting a mystery to come out of it either. I saw Joffrey choking and Sansa staring with that half sad, half angry look in my mind.

I'm leaning towards Olenna too simply because of her exchange with Sansa before the death. Joffrey's death was pretty brutal given how young the character was.

Book spoiler about Shae Ehhhhh I'm not loving this manufactured tale with her. I loved the book because what's to come with the trial and Tywin was so goddamn shocking because it seemed like she loved him this whole time. I don't know why the show would force a reason into it, if they choose to follow the book with the rest of her behaviors. It was a damn good mindsmurf for me, and they should have let it be and let her betray him at court and after instead.

Book and probably future episode spoilerYeah, she was kind of an empty character in the books, but now having her be this developed in the show really spoils the shock of that moment with Tywin. I really didn't see it coming!

The other part of the episode that smurfing disturbed me was Joffrey's face as he was dying. That was smurfing mortifying. Between that, the little people humiliation, and the Ramsay bits, this episode has my stomach in an uncomfortable knot.

That face was way more intense than I imagined when reading it. Totally disturbing. I made BJ put on an episode of Adventure Time before I'd go to sleep.

Yeah, the beauty of that scene in the book was that, in that moment, he was just a little boy and she was just a mother holding her dying son. I'm not sure they were able to really convey that as well as I would've liked in the show.

One child dies hours after marrying Margaery, so we want to marry another to her? If I were Cersei, I wouldn't go for it. Then again, the Tyrells are there and there were all these preparations to bring the houses together, so maybe Tywin will push for it anyway, I don't know.
