ofcourse the GoT makers are aware of the rumours and dont let him cut his hair, and make him show up so we dont have a definitive answer.

It was always a given Jon was coming back, his character ending the way he did just never made sense from a storytelling perspective. GoT likes surprising deaths but all of them have made sense in retrospect, Both Ned and Robb's storyline's had reached conclusions by the time they bit the bullet.

Jon's character still has so much potential, his parentage has never been fully confirmed and he provides the POV for everything around the wall. The real question is HOW does he come back, he is most definitely dead at the end of season 5. I'm 50/50 on either Melisandre or Bran being the catalysts for it. The fact she arrived back at the wall mere minutes before the stabbing seems all too convenient.

That being said they need a cool way to bring Bran back into the story (I have to imagine the first scene of Season 6 will be Bran-focused)

Yeah the speculation should be on how he comes back not if. I think it has to be Mel. With Stannis dead or at least defeated she has no real storyline and I always thought her a major player in the outcome of this world. She certainly was the catalyst for most of Stannis's actions.

Maybe they just plan on doing some flashback scenes with him in them? I mean, I want him to be alive, too, but this all seems to be such a stretch.

The only flashback they've ever had in the series was young cersei, a flashback scene is a stretch.

They said before he was dead, that was it, no more filming, he didn't have a contract to oblige with keeping his hair long. Yet here he is, in Belfast, long hair and all, where they have already started filming season 6, with a member of the nights watch. It's pretty obvious there is more Jon Snow, now.


Also Yara is there! So more greyjoy action too!

At this point I'm just hoping that this is the most elaborate troll ever. "Hey Jon, want some more money and a paid for vacation to just hang around the filming location with your hair still long."

One way to bring Bran back and to use a flashback to do some story heavy-lifting:

Open the next season with Bran viewing what really happened that night in the Tower of Joy. Supposedly they are casting a young Ned and Robert, so maybe it fits? And it can give us some definitive Jon Snow origin story.

As for his fate. I think he's dead. He was stabbed over a dozen times and was losing a lot of blood with no immediate medic or healer nearby. Just a red priest that as far as I know can't stop blood-loss.















But, will he stay dead? That I doubt. He still has a part to play. As I said before, maybe no longer as Jon "Snow" but maybe reborn and free of his vows as Jon Stark or perhaps as the new Head Commander of The Others? Or as the Prince That Was Promised. Or as a vengeful zombie a la a certain unshown TV character. There are a lot of possibilities. Him just being dead seems the most trite and least GoT way of doing things after building this world up through his eyes.

His "death" means that technically everyone involved has not been lying. If Jon Snow is no longer his identity, then he won't be appearing in this upcoming season.

Still, I think we all know nothing and yet, all know a little something.



I also standby my predictions of before: I think Winds of Winter comes out March 2016 and I think the last season of GoT is split in to two half-seasons. Answers will be forthcoming no doubt!
