They're running out of source material. They're either caught up, or almost caught up with the books, so they have to make up their own trout from here on out. Which they've already been doing.
Though to be fair, their finale was mostly things that happened in the books. I think.

Actually, they don't. GRRM told them how the series proceeds. The two producers/writers are the only ones who know. So while it may not be exactly like the book, it'll still be the same story line.
It happened to Jon in the book and then slightly different but still basically the same in the show.

When I feel bad about procrastinating I look at GRMM and realize, it could be a lot worse.
Waaaait so Snow might be alive? o.O If that were the case, I could totally imagine episode 1 of the next season opening with John alive and the fans be like: \(^.^)/\(^_^)/\(^.^)/ "Yeaah he's alive!" And then at the end of the same episode he'll die brutally and make every kick themselves for not seeing it coming.
Tbh the saddest part of the show for me was during the red wedding where they killed the wolves

Yes exactly! Maybe it's because animals are generally innocent, not capable of being as flawed as humans are and that we're desensitized to seeing people dying all the time in movies/shows/games. Either way, poor Lady
I think Ghost is locked up somewhere or he would've been eating some sons of bitches during last season's finale.
