Some speculation on season five casting information (one of my facebook friends said this; I'm not sure if she wants to be identified):
(SPOILER)Game of Thrones speculation: Wait what if they're merging Ellaria and Arianne's roles, so it's Ellaria plotting elaborate revenge and they get to keep the actress (whom I love) rather than introducing a new character.
That would make Quentyn the heir to Dorne as the eldest legitimate child of any gender, but Dorne could keep primogeniture and the Myrcella plot still works and it's not a horrible disservice to the awesome female characters. /reading too much into casting information
I sincerely hope this is what they're doing. Anything else would be pretty close to unforgivable.
Also:
At this point, I am actually hoping for drastic changes from the novel because the outrage from book readers is just too delicious.
Whether or not we're outraged depends entirely on the quality of the changes. Everyone's been really happy with the changes to Arya's storyline, for example.
