In the show, he is most likely dead. The show differs so much from the original source material that most of the people who watch it don't put so much importance in a line from the first half of the first season.

In the books though, he's more than likely alive.

It would really suck if he ends up dead in the show and is alive in the books. I can hear the fan rage now o.o

Fans are going to be angry no matter what though. Game of Thrones was never going to be an completely perfect adaptation, the material is too rich and contains too many impossible-to-film moments. Anyone who went in thinking it'd be 100% faithful was fooling themselves.

As long as the show contains to be well-written and acted, it's fine by me whatever changes they make. It won't change the canon.

As some one who has read all the books multiple times, whhhat??

The show is probably one of the most faithful adaptions I've ever seen. I mean yes they have to combine characters and cut out certain parts, but the main narrative has been pretty spot on. They are not going to make huge deviations to the main story. Plus George already told them the ending years ago and they said they're working towards that ending.

There will no doubt be changes, but for example if Dany was to take an arrow to the head in The Winds of Winter you can be 99% certain it's gonna happen in the show. I mean the person shooting it might change, and they might be in a slightly different location but the main climax's aren't going to be completely different.

Another example is Stannis, I doubt it will go down the same way in the books, I even doubt it will be Brienne who does it, but he sure as hell is going to die.

I think up until now it has been pretty faithful to the source material, much more so than pretty much any of these types of adaptations that have ever existed. At this point, though, they are out of source material (at least public material) and I wouldn't be surprised to see big deviations on main plot points from what Martin ends up writing. Hell, he could give them the plot twist and see it play out on screen and then change his mind and rewrite it the book. It's almost like a testing ground for him at this point.

In fact, the books and show are so similar that I was getting confused as to which adaptation had which small difference. So I stopped reading after Storm of Swords. I'll finish it off if and when Martin ever completes the series. Maybe even read from the beginning.

Jon Snow is going to be alive in the show even if he is resurrected.

Dinklage got Best Supporting Actor again.

Also they just hit a record for how many emmys one show has gotten at one time. 13. They won 13.

Also Kit Harrington let slip in an interview that he'll "be on the show until he's in his 30's" and was reported to be seen filming a battle scene.

Half the awards they won I've never heard of. But still pretty cool.

Yeah, only 4 of them were Primetime Emmy awards, The West Wing has still won more than that in a single year.

More impressive I thought was the amount of nominations they received, it was something crazy like 24. That's pretty nuts.
