Here are all the new battle sprites to this game. I know I may be overreacting, but what the hell, SE? You made Cecil's overworld sprite have long hair, as well as his After Years sprites, while in battle you give him short hair? Why?

Anyhow, let's talk about how pretty they are.

I'm seriously not digging them. I actually never cared for the PSP sprites, even for FFI and II. Cecil doesn't look so bad and its nice he is actually color coded correctly but what the smurf is going on with Kain and Golbez? Golbez looks more like Ex-Death than himself and Kain looks like he's wearing the croc hat from MGS3.

I can't say I like the style in the least, though my years of avoiding any art education has robed me of the words to describe how.

Lackluster comes to mind. They're not exactly amazing. I expected something a little nicer.

I think that these sprites look acceptable. I find it unfortunate that they still have chosen to stick to the weird character design for Golbez in Final Fantasy IV: The After Years.

I noticed that this artist seems to have abandoned the notion of having younger characters have two eyes visible while standing to the side. You can see this demonstrated in the original sprites of Rydia, Palom, Porom, and Krile.
