Creating awesome weapons is easy even without codes. Just look at the weapons you get from the Monster Arena. The One-Eye (I think that's it's name. The species mastery of Eyeballs anyway) drops Triple AP weapons (Though I've yet to find one with three extra ability slots. Two seems to be the max for these items). Combine with easy Winning Formulae by Bribing Sand Worms (Bribe 2 and you'll have enough for a Triple Overdrive), and Dark Matter from any of the special critters, and you get a Break Damage Limit, Triple Overdrive, Triple AP weapon! The perfect weapon for training. Of course, if you prefer, you can just take a weapon with four empty slots and modify it however you like. Evade and Counter, Triple Overdrive, One MP cost, MP Booster. The items for all of these (and much, much more) can be gotten with very little work (though it might cost some Gil. But who needs Gil anyway?) in the Monster Arena. (Personally, I think the second most helpful weapon I've made so far is a Taming Sword with Break Damage Limit. It makes capturing high HP creatures so much easier. But the Triple AP/Overdrive and Break Damage weapons that are extremely easy to get are a godsend when it comes to training characters, IMHO)
BTW, does anyone have any advice on getting Khimari's Sigil? It's the only one I have left, but that butterfly game is annoying as hell.
Oh, and you don't need No Encounters to do the Lightning Bolt Dodging minigame. Just don't move. Stand in one spot, wait for the screen to flash, press "X", rinse and repeat.
(Also, has anyone tried crafting a weapon identical to the Legendary Weapons? IE: Make a Break Damage Limit, Triple Overdrive, Evade and Counter, and Magic Counter weapon for Tidus? I'm curious as to what the weapon's name would be.)
