Cult members are typically stripped of their powers when recruited. Personally I'm not even going to acknowledge the possibility of there being a cult until I see some evidence, because the mafia is enough to worry about for Day 1.
I hope there isn't. Yeah there is another variant in a game I was part of, they didn't kill, but whoever the prostitute chose as a client would have to vote with her. It didn't work very well, she got spotted extremely quickly because of other things.
