Most fiends drop them in battle. Macalania Forest is a good place to start. Really, any stretch of land where there's a lot of walking to be had will yield a lot of battles. Calm lands would be a nice place to hang out and battle for a while too.

You can try using the Distil Skill Spheres ability when you fight. Right? That does exist, doesn't it?

I think Jenova is referring to power, magic and ability spheres that you use on the grid.

Maybe he's actually talking about skill spheres (the ones that give you any skill already obtained by another member on the sphere grid), not ability spheres. Because theres really only a dry spell of ability spheres somewhere around the Operation Mihen.

Ha! They're hard to get. One of them is found in a chest in Home, and another one in a chest in the Via Purifico. Both are missable. The other option is to bribe those large birds found in the Bikanel Desert area's (Zu). They hurt your wallet though; 360.000 gil for a pair.
