Default Mysidia Theme in Other FFs

YouTube - Final Fantasy IV OST - Mystic Mysidia ~ Mysidia Theme

Ever since my last attempt to play through FFIV I've been convinced I know this song from another FF game. I have absolutely no idea which one though but it just sound so damn familiar.

    Does anyone else know?

If I'm to take a stab (I can't load Youtube here) but it is likely from Final Fantasy II, which also has a village named Mysidia.

They see me rolling. They hating, patrolling.
Trying to catch me riding dirty.

According to the Final Fantasy Wikia Mysidia in FFIIj just uses that game's regular town theme. However, another version of the song does appear in the soundtrack to Chocobo to Mahou no Ehon: Majo to Shoujo to Go-nin no Yuusha. Not that you're likely to have played that, since it has never been released outside Japan. The Mysidia theme from FFIV is one of the better known themes from that game so you might have just been exposed to it without knowing.

    I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT!

It wasn't in a different FF game at all. At least, not exactly.

YouTube - Final Fantasy VIII Review (Part 7)

The review starts off with the Celtic Moon version of the theme. I remembered this and couldn't quite place it so I just figured this other version of the Mysidia Theme must be part of a later game. I had no idea about the cover album until earlier today.

I am really glad I figured it out.

The arranged albums are pretty good. Definitely worth tracking down.
