During the Opera Scene, Celes floats around, dancing with a Draco who spawned from or to flowers (I forget). What the hell is the go here? Do we just put our faith in the magic of theatre or was there something I missed?

This always bothered me too. If the entire screen had flashed, it would be easy -- they blinded everyone momentarily and then switched places. But there must be some sort of smoke and mirrors trick, as Vivi22 said.
