FF7 Riddles From Zero

It's not Ramuh Materia (or any materia for that matter) and the spelling of stile on the last line is completely intentional.

It is definitely an easily missed item (having missed it myself before!) and it is in an area that you can't return to.

The biggest clues probably come from the second and fourth lines. The third line is obscure but relates to the item. There's plenty of clues in there if you look deep!

It is related to the Graveyard for trains? The "give thanks for a while" brings that to mind.....

You find this item in a chest on the dock before the submarine battle. You can't return to this area once you start the battle.
You'll see I come from a rough sea stock
Leviathan comes from the sea and scales have a rough appearance
Critters may come and give thanks for a while
This refers to Cloud's famous quote when trying to enter the Da-Chao Fire Cave without the Leviathan Scales in tow "That flame would make crispy critters of us in an instant!"
As I sit and weigh up Avalanche's stile
Weigh up again refers to the 'scales' part of the answer. Finally, 'Avalanche's Stile' is an anagram of 'Leviathan Scales'

I may have put a few too many clues in there but good job, Chionos!

rough sea stock + Avalanche's stile eventually did it for me. When you said the spelling of stile was intentional it got me thinking. That third line....so obscure lol.

but anyway. An easy one after the last two difficult riddles:

The Chocobo Races in the Gold Saucer?

My guess is simply chocobos or chocobo square?

The last line has a double meaning.

Gold could refer to money or Gil, it could refer to the gold chocobo, or it could refer to a Gold item (Golden Hairpin, maybe).... Just tossing it out there.
