It is not Huge Materia in general, nor is it a specific Huge Materia, but it is related to combat.
Is it the materia system in general?
I have a little bit of an out-there guess, but is it Trine? I couldn't think of any materia that are stolen in any sense. Trine is prism-shaped and stolen from an enemy. And obviously related to combat. I'm not sure about "extreme power" and "great skill," though, but those could be hyperbolic descriptions.
Perhaps, Raist. I'm going to guess the Enemy Skill in general.

Ok, here's my first attempt at a riddle
At the end of your wooded journey
lies the end of everything;
a surpassing energy,
hastening your power
At the end of your wooded journey suggests to me that we're in the Ancient Forest. The second line 'end of everything' makes me think of the apocalypse.
I'm pretty sure one of the items at the end of the Ancient Forest is the Apocalypse Sword. So that's my guess.
That would have been my guess, as well.
Damn, I guess my riddle was too easy. Yes, it's the Apocalypse. The last two lines referenced it's triple growth trait.
