Vagrant Story is hands-down one of Squaresoft's best games. I recently played through it during my week off and was simply stunned at how much I'd forgotten and how absolutely quality it is from beginning to end. To be completely honest, this playthrough might have been the first time I killed the final boss and watched the ending. I have no recollection of ever seeing the end before...
What are everyone's thoughts on the game? Clunky? Confusing? A masterpiece of tinkering and tone?
Anyway, now that I've cleared it, I'm considering going back and doing a NG+ to clear the new dungeon. Although lately I've been having a real urge to play PS1 Square games and I might go through either FFIX or Chrono Cross (I'd actually really like to play through Legend of Mana for the first time, but god knows when PSN will be back up for me to get it). There's nothing like old Squaresoft games. I genuinely believe there's nothing even close this generation (or even last) that has the same consistency of quality and creativity that Square had during their PS1 run.
