All in all there are several things i would do differently if I was to undertake this kind of project again.
First and foremost probably sucking it up and paying to have the eyes and cutie mark embroidered professionally, as opposed to my "good enough" cheap guy method of a cardstock stencil and 2 buck bottle of fabric paint.
Secondly, I still haven't figured out the best way to attach the wings. As of posting, neither of them are actually permanently attached, because I think it's going to involve busting some seams so i don't have to sew through as many fabric layers. I am loathe to do this, and have been attempting to circumvent it. I have three broken upholstery needle standing evidence to both my efforts to sew them on as is, and the inevitability of cracking said seams back open.
Lastly, the big ones head needs some definitive reinforcement, the neck is overstuffed like crazy, but it's still not enough support to keep it upright. It kind flops around on its own accord, which largely works because of my lazy sleeping-style eyes. It usually rolls forward onto her legs and makes her look like she's snoozing. All in all though, it has done it's duty of eliciting squee from my wife, so I declare the endeavor a success.

All honesty, I've got two more weeks of nothing to do, and I'm bored to tears. I may be making more of the smaller ones just for something to do. PM me a request and if it's something i can concieve a pattern for, I'll be happy to take a crack at it and send em out to you. If you'd like a freebie though, do me a favor and stick with ponies with a fairly simple color scheme. Ie: rainbow dash would require me buying like, 8 different fabrics.

I'm not even ashamed to admit that the ending of today's episode made me a lil' misty eyed.
For a second, I was scared. I thought that the spike/rarity shipping was going to be cannonized. The hell that would have unleashed upon the fanfic sites...

Aside from my all encompassing desire for baked beans and a rack of ribs, I think I can handle a Rarity plush, assuming i can come up with the required fabric. I'll get back at ya tomorrow and let you know the score.
Edit: So I sent out a few messages to those of y'all that had mentioned an interest in the freeby plushies. Had a couple questions before I get cranking on them in earnest though, so as soon as y'all get back to me I can get cracking. Anybody else that's interested that hasn't talked to me, just let me know. I may do another round of these later, if there's still interest.
