Reminds me of a book I read that included a section on unorthodox names. My favorite is a pair of brothers named Winner and Loser. Winner went on to become a career criminal and Loser became a cop.

Zecora's pretty sweet. As is Derpy Hooves. I actually adore all the seven main characters thoroughly, a very interesting feat indeed.
Oh, and NOOOOOOOOO! is my favorite episode ever.
That whole episode was just silly. xD "Remember kids, you can totally invade people so long as you appease them with PIES!"
I have heard that the writer is no longer going to be with the show as they go into Season 2. If this is true, I shudder to think what might become of this show.
Anyone who has even heard of the original My Little Pony show knows just how bad this could turn.

Yeah, Faust is still going to be involved. And I have a hard time believing that a show so great rests wholly and solely on her anyway.
Honestly I don't quite get the revulsion towards the original show. I mean, it was clearly a giant commercial, yes, and it was pretty cheesy, yes, and Friendship is Magic is an enormous improvement, yes, but the original show certainly had its moments. I enjoyed it when I was a kid-- it wasn't my favorite thing ever, but I enjoyed it-- and I still remember some of the quotes and songs from the original My Little Pony movie, which was surprisingly memorable. Also, that show taught me what the word "dank" meant. Because these witches were looking for something "dank and dark and dreary", and I was really impressed with that first word there. xD
I think it's more a matter of in light of what Friendship does, it had potential that was largely wasted.
I watched the movie out of curiousity after seeing the Nostalgia Chick's review, and it was interesting, but showed very little character development, aside from the witches, who the movie had to introduce rather than assume the viewers knew who the other characters were already.
Well, I haven't seen the movie in about twenty years, so I wouldn't be surprised if my opinion of it was different now :o It was enjoyable enough for me back then, though! Also, Danny DeVito was in it. Randomly.
The Care Bears "Generation II" movie was better, though. And also absolutely terrifying. But that's a different topic.
