Not many threads do get to 1,000 replies here, and those that do don't get closed for being too big. You shouldn't be the one to decide whether we can start a new thread or not. That is up to the staff to decide whether a new thread is needed. And anyone can join in the conversation at any time, they don't need to be there from the very start.
