While I myself am not interested in that Equestria Girls (still wish they had chosen a different name) I am finding it kind of refreshing to hear possitive ideas towards it.
I'm not sure if I will ever be sold on the idea of it, but I really wish that the people who hate the idea (that's 96% of the wikia) would just take a chill-pill about it. It's not even canon, and it's just one episode/movie, but everyone's acting like it will affect the entire fandom.
I personally think it's kind of a cute idea.
I wish they'd gone the extra mile, though, and used real-life actors instead of animation.

We've got three in my state, and all three are at least 200 miles away. Just in different directions.

From what I heard it was just a really small select handful of theatres showing it for 1 day.
Which begs us to to invite the question: WHY?
What was the point?
All this big fuss and barely anyone actually (legally) gets to see it? It doesn't make sense! Even if the point of it was just to justify some humanised dolls, why not just make them a "what if the ponies were humanised" doll range and just not go to the effort of making a movie to justify it in the first place?
Surely it'll get expanded or at least put onto DVD. SURELY.
So far I've heard that it's actually good. From people who thought nothing good could come of it. The surprise of having the open-mindedness to check out MLP in the first place and having that open-mindedness pay off, strikes again?
I'm in the UK so I have to pirate it all anyways. Hasbro/DHX have my money the minute they bring it to UK iTunes (give or take a month or two, seeing as I have the expenses of BUCK and stuff coming up..)

I forgot to mention that I watched Equestria Girls and it was better than I was expecting. Nothing dramatically groundbreaking but worth a watch if you're a fan.
Waiting for a rip (I'll buy it when it's out in the UK, pinkie promise) but allegedly it'll be available early at comic con so I reckon this weekend.....
