Feel special. This is my 3rd avatar in the 10 years I've been here.
*3rd time I've voluntarily changed my avatar.

@HC
I like a shy Fluttershy. She's so adorable. My plans at work have been altered so I might just go ahead and get in Irfan and reduce something to avatar size for myself.
I'm nearly caught all the way up. The show has gotten SOOO good in season 2 so far. Things really started taking off after the cutie mark backstory episode in season 1. I really like how much investment there is in the consistency of the world. Even though they weren't allowed to go with long arcs, it's nice that they sort of work small arcs (Cutie Pie Crusaders, etc.) and recurring stuff (Grand Galloping Gala, etc.) into the episodic format in a way that makes things feel internally consistent.
The slight broadening of format (everypony writing to Celestia instead of just TS) has really opened the doors for what can be the focal point of a given ep. It's felt like nearly every ep of S2 has added something great to enrich the world.
I've convinced my wife to watch a little and watching back through some of the S1 episodes you really notice how they not only laid some groundwork, but, unlike many shows aimed at a younger audience, they actually had themes recur and almost anything mentioned seems to later become more relevant even if it seemed like a throw away the first time around.
I like the show for a lot of reasons but the thing that kept me going to develop those reasons is because it makes me laugh.
I started watching it in part because of EOFF and in part because of a girl I know. She texted one day and said she wanted to come over the following Saturday. She was going to bring a cake and we were going to watch My Little Pony. My thoughts were generally, "ok, I like cake". I also remembered this thread from when it was new and my post from then. I watched the first two episodes and was kinda meg about it, but it was alright enough to give it a few more chances. By the end of episode four I wanted more.
My favorite pony is easily guessable as Derpy. I like the where's waldo approach of watching to find her in every episode. That she became more common in season two and completely cannon recently makes me very happy. I usually watch the intro song, which is something I almost never do, just so I can see her part riding in the train.
As far as picking a favorite from the mane six that's a really hard choice. Before I grew so fond of Derpy I would say by episode three Rainbow Dash was my favorite pony. She's still pretty high up there but about halfway through season one I started to like Pinkie Pie too. I think Dashie still claims my top spot but it's hard not to love Pinkie during a few season two episodes, especially when the Cutey Mark Crusaders were asking around about how the mane six got their cutey marks and Pinkie Pie talks about growing up on a rock farm or during the Luna Halloween episode where she's running around in a chicken costume. Also, how can you not like Fluttershy? It's awesome when she's practicing how to cheer with Dashie and all she can do is yay. There's a mo for Skyrim that lets you turn all the dragons into Flutershy and I'm torn between getting it so she's in the game and not getting it because you fight dragons in the game.

.... Hasbro appologized for calling derpy derpy!
Whyyyyyyyyy!

I saw this a while ago and already started seeing confirmation that they weren't changing her name (also days ago).
Where'd you hear this one? I've been following the derpy debacle over the last week, but i never found anything to indicate hasbro itself was backpedalling on the issue. From what I've gathered so far, apple threw a fit over the episode where she is referred to by name and removed it from iTunes. Around the same time time WeLoveFine (the license holder for MLP merchandise aimed at adults, and maker of many awesome things for Bronies) removed the name Derpy from any item names or descriptions. There were also a few petitions floating around claiming the name was Ableist and offensive to the mentally handicapped.
On the other hoof as it were, The Hub never removed the episode stream from their website, and in fact featured the episode unaltered on it's front page. WeLoveFine also never removed a t-shirt they had that actually had Derpy printed on it, and not only returned most of the derpy references to the site but added a new one with a picture of Derpy underneath the word "Misunderstood." One of the voice actors redacted the word Derpy from her blog, in a manner that was widely taken to be a passive aggressive statement of her opposition of a change. Lastly, the screenshot below showed up a few days ago, supposedly as a response from Hasbro UK to the derpy rumor milling.

I've yet to see anything about an official statement from Hasbro US though. All the info so far has been subject to interpretation, there's been very little in the way of official word. So pretty much, designed to send an internet based fandom into a rumor-milling death spiral.
I think Ghandi pretty much summed it up.
