MLP:FiM Megathread: Does anyone even watch this show anymore edition

To give this thread some life until the season starts let's talk about some pony stuff. For the background characters with non-canon names which names do you prefer? There's lots to choose from but feel free to talk about them all.

I like wubs that come from a <i>Vinyl Scratch</i>.

I usually try to come up with compromises so that, both names can be used, especially if I like both names. For example, I used "Lyra Heartstrings" long before Hasbro caved, and made that her official name. I mostly call Derpy, Derpy, but I like the idea of Ditzy being her real name, which is barely used by ponies (Derpy being an affectionate nickname her friends call her in my headcanon). I use both Vinyl Scratch and DJ PON3 for the DJ pony, with the excuse that "DJ PON3" is just Vinyl's dj name or whatever... see, compromises.

Sometimes, I can't compromise, and just have to pick favorites. Bon-Bon/Sweetie Drops for example. I stick with Bon-Bon, and can't really think of a way she could be Sweetie Drops as well.

To revive, I just watched Equestria girls!

...I have mixed feelings. For the posotive, I think they characters were all done very well, and really did feel like the Equestria counter parts.

There were quite a few funny moments as well.

But yeah, the moments weren't that many for me. The crush Twilight had on the guy was cringe worthy as all hell. And the villain was given no redeeming qualities what so ever, then suddenly at the end we are suppose to feel sorry for her? No. The villain in this was god awful, damn most of her plans pretty damn stupid.

Overall I can't say I like it, even if I liked aspects of it.

5/10.

Also, why do we get a smurfing Blu Ray of this, but not of the show itself!?

I found Equestria girls to have about the same amount of humor as put into one episode of the show, stretched over an hour and a half. It also had a horrible villain, only one average song, a bunch of awkward scenes, a completely unnecessary crush so that Twilight can have a new relationship upon the opening of season 4, and the worst ending by far FiM has ever seen. I felt like I was watching a cross between power rangers and strawberry shortcake at the end.

I actually liked the end when it went all Sailor Moon on us, though that's just because I watched that when I was younger. XD

Do we even know that Flash will be transfered over to the real show? I though Equestria Girls (which I have not seen) was going to be non-canon stand alone movie...

I will say though that if any bronies start complaining that it interferes with fanfictions, then it doesn't. fanfictions, can break away from canon.

I actually liked the end when it went all Sailor Moon on us, though that's just because I watched that when I was younger. XD

Was it that rainbow thing with the elements, like when Nightmare Moon was stopped? If so, you realize that's based on My Little Pony don't you?

TBH, I loved it so much if it was an episode it'd probably be in my top 5, and the song (the cafeteria one) would be up there as well

I wasn't bothered about the slight romance, it was a cute passing thing for the movie and it's already been confirmed that Flash isn't in season 4.

My one criticism is that yeah, the final defeat was the usual overdone "rainbow of d00m" thing but I really enjoyed the rest of it.

Big fan though, I've just come back from BUCK con, it was awesome
