My vote definitely goes for Coronado. I love that place. La Jolla is a lot more touristy. And the cove can get pretty packed. I usually prefer the beaches by the cliffs just south of the Children's Pool, where the seals hang.

bawww I love La Jolla and I think Justy would too. I've never been to Coronado but La Jolla was amazing.
Or we could just go to Pacific Beach and go to a bar after.
Aww, I wanted to go bong shopping in Venice. Coronado is south as hell. Hmmm... Crystal Cove is my favorite beaach, but I like rocks.

I still haven't been to Venice except for driving through a few times. And I've never heard of Crystal Cove, where is that?
I really ought to visit more of the beaches up north. I usually hang out at either La Jolla, the Sunset Cliffs, or Ocean Beach. Imperial Beach every once in a while. Definitely need to get up north.

The reason we're considering SoCal is because it's closer to Phoenix meaning it's cheaper gas-wise and quicker to get to.
Not that we don't like NorCal. I'd love to go to SF myself, but two full days of driving isn't doable on such a short time he'll be here.
And as for plans go, we may be looking at only one night now, so possibly not a big giant meetup like we wanted
