I like to think the Administrators are the guardians of EoFF. The Cid's Knights are the popular young faces, the leaders of tomorrow. They've had their time in the sun, and while they haven't stopped giving to the community, they're no longer getting the same recognition. The promotion to Admin reminds me, in a way, of the Best Referee award that my federation used to hand out. It was basically the award you gave as a final send off; "Thank you for all the hard work, now you should retire."

Of course our admins don't get to retire. They still work their ass off, with more responsibilities. When the forums go down, we all joke about who broke it, but the admins have to fix it. When tit goes down in EoEO, the admins have to keep a cool head. When things need to be implemented, names changed, birthdays set to the actual date because you joined when you were 10 you sneaky bugger, the admins have to do it.

I think all of our admins deserve a congratulations for the work they have done and continue to do. But because this is a popularity contest and there can be only one winner, it is up to us to decide which of our admins is the best at their job. Or at least who is the most popular.

I voted for foa as well, and not just because she's the only one I can remember actually seeing a picture of. She's actually pretty good looking. And this is coming from someone who isn't a fan of shoes.

The Highwind Award for Forums Staff

This was a tricky one with one member who edged ahead at the very last moment with a handful of staffers tied with them on 2 votes a piece until that point, and each of them had good reason to win it. Jiro with his community building efforts and strong enthusiasm, Wolf Kanno for his intelligent posting and broad work throughout both general and gaming forums alike, and Del Murder for his highly respected leadership and decision making within the staff forum (read: firing everyone) all had a shout for it, but in the end it felt almost inevitable that it was always going to be the guy who does all the things nobody else wants to do, be it to do with more site-related work or just general cleaning up of the forums. With a good sense of humour, a level head, a caring towards EoFF and an ability to seemingly help with absolutely any kind of problem anyone might have, Rantzien is the guy who wins this award and with ease. Thanks, man, for all the work you do about this place. It will never go unnoticed by the staff around you and it just goes to show that when multiple staff members have done so much for EoFF that you still win this and you have to feel it's very deserved. Keep it up, and thanks again.

Rantzien is one of the best ever, if not the best. I cannot think of any other staffer in history who has nothing negative about them. BoB can be too much of a dork, Psy can be too much of a comedian, and Del Murder can be too much of an elitist, but Rantzien is just...the whole package. I assure you this place would be a pile of scrap if it wasn't for this guy and I'm so glad he's around.

But I voted for Kanno.
