    Default I'm so tired

I am always tired lately and I don't know why. I go to bed early enough, I sleep like 9 hours but I am ALWAYS tired. It has been leading to aweful headaches and mood swings and now I actually am having trouble sleeping because of the headaches. I dunno what to do anymore

Drink more water, eat healthy, don't sleep for nine hours (aim for 7-8 hours), eat a good breakfast at the start of the day, exercise. Get fresh air, even if it's just through opening a window. Finally, socialise vocally. That includes talking on the phone and in person and of course any other way, so long as you socialise vocally then I find you don't get so tired so quickly. But yeah, do all of those many things or at least some of them and hopefully things will pick up.

Another thing in addition to Bob's suggestions is that any amount of light may be disrupting your sleep, particularly this time of year when the sun rises a lot earlier. Hang some thick, light blocking curtains, remove any electronics from the bedroom that you can which may give off light (I use the alarm on my phone instead of an alarm clock so it isn't lighting half the room), and keep the door shut so you don't have light coming in from other rooms/windows. If you need to, even try placing a towel or something at the bottom of the door to block out all of the light completely.

It may sound a bit absurd to go that far to block out light, but you'll be amazed at how much of a difference it can make in terms of how restful the sleep you do get is.

That's true. And if there are sounds that keep you awake, you could try putting soft music on or even air conditions, a fan or something that would 'wash out' other sounds. We use a hair dryer (Danielle at first, but now I'm so used to it that it's weird without it, argh). Which is at least a little more reasonable than a vacuum cleaner, which Wayne Rooney apparently uses. o_x

<s>How about exercising? If you have spent the day doing smurf all, there is a tendency to being tired for no reason at all. Go swimming, ride a bike, walk a mile, or something and you can be surprised at how much more energized you can feel after doing something which should tire you out.</s>

After consulting Google, I can positively tell you without any doubt you have a brain tumor and are dying. You may have to drill this one out.

Stress and depression can lead to exhaustion so make sure your life going swell. Couple that with a good diet and enough sleep and you should be good. If not then you should go to a doctor. Being exhausted is an indicator to a lot of medical problems.

    Yes actually.

I looked up some symptoms and I also have frequent hunger, but thats about it.

My doctor took some blood tests about a month ago and said nothing about that though. I do have low Iron. But I've had low iron for the past 3 years and I don't think that it would effect my sleep all of a sudden.

They might not say much about elevated blood sugar. I'd say drink lots of water and cut back on sugary snacks. But then again, I should too but I tend to ignore my own advice

I agree with most other posters...7-8 hours of sleep, don't drink too much coffee or eat too much sugar/junk food, adapt a good diet and exercise...which I don't do at all. I don't sleep enough so then I rely on coffee, I drink too much beer and eat greasy chicken wings. >.< So do the opposite of what I do lol.

As for white noise, I just leave my air purifier on at night. Seems to keep out all the random noises like sirens and the public transit trains going by. When someone mentioned the hair dryer thing...I remember seeing that whole "My Strange Addiction" thing on TLC, and the girl actually burned herself a couple times while sleeping with it: My Strange Addiction: Lori Sleeps With Blow Dryer : Video : TLC

Well, it could be anything really. More than likely it could resolve itself if you started eating healthy and exercising. Also look in to your lifestyle for any signs of stress, boredom, overexertion or overworking.

Worst case scenario is that you have a disorder where common causes include but are not limited to allergies and asthma, chronic pain, infection, depression, grief, medication side effects, alcohol use, or drug use.

If you are waking up during the night due to noise, a white noise machine works wonders. You could also look in to hemi-sync, as it replicates brain wave patterns during REM sleep in form of audio and helps to relax your body and mind as you drift off to sleep.

Sounds like depression or stress to me. I think it would be a good idea to go see your doctor about it if it keeps happening consistently. Could be a sign of something worse. =/

Try sleeping on the couch and see if you wake up feeling better. Where I sleep actually has a lot of effect on how I wake up. My bed wasn't too crash hot and where I am sleeping currently is horrendous, so I sleep for 12 hours and feel the same as if I don't sleep for those 12 hours.

I've been less tired since I started taking iron supplements.
