Nothing was changed in terms of treasure or item placement. Its virtually the same as the SNES except with a more accurate translation (though some things like character names are the same) the only confusing thing you may run into are the name changes cause Fire 2 is now Fira, Pearl is now Holy, Offering Relic is now the Master Scroll, Swrdtech is now Bushido, and Terrato is now Midgard Zolom to name a few of the name changes, but overall its the same game except for the extra content.
