Break-up sex: your thoughts?

Depends on what kind of break up, I guess, but for me and the rather emotional breakup I had with an ex, it probably wasn't the best idea. I don't regret it but I wouldn't do it again, let's put it that way. You live, you learn. I imagine it would be much more helpful for those who have mutual breakups and both have a good understanding with each other over what the sex is for.

then they have sex. And they're full of denial and melancholy.

Try "I don't want to be your girlfriend/boyfriend anymore, but you're gonna see me on [date] and I'm still sexually interested so...", or something to that extent.

I think it's silly. Why have sex with someone you no longer have feelings for? And it could maybe make either the girlfriend or the boyfriend still attached when all they were trying to do is break up in the first place.
