    Default Warcraft Books

That's right, it's time for another of FFIX Choco Boy's completely inconsequential threads about some random anime/book series/movie/etc in The Lounge! This time, we will be discussing the books of the Warcraft Universe. What are your favorites? Which do you dislike? What are your reasons? Characters? Whatever you want to say, put it here.

Currently, I have only read Arthas and Day of the Dragon. I have all of the rest on my computer, but I haven't really had a whole lot of time to read them all. However, being a huge lore nerd, I absolutely loved the two I have read. DotD was interesting because it gave you a look at the inner working of Deathwing's mind, and the alliances of old Lordaeron. However, I thought Arthas was one of the best and most gripping books I've read in my life. I enjoyed reading about his past, including his relationships with Jaina, Invincible, Muradin, and Uther. Even after playing W3, it's expansion, and Wrath of the Lich King, though, this book still gave me a lot of information about him during the time of those events as well, and I really enjoyed learning about one of my favorite characters in the Warcraft Universe.

I read part of day of the dragon but I read all three of the War of the Ancient books. Those ones are hella good. If you're into the warcraft lore it gives you a lot of background on Deathwing as he was going insane. Good stuff!

I really like lore and have had a lot of free time over the past Spring/Summer so I've read them all. The war of the Ancients were my favorites. It was more interesting reading an actual story that was based on only a few bits of history instead of reading recounts of what happened in the games. I especially liked seeing a happy laughing Malygos in the story. I also liked The Last Guardian because I think Medivh is an interesting character in WoW's history.

There's also a new book that just came out not mentioned on your list.

The Last Guardian was, by far, my favorite. And not just because I'm a sucker for Medivh/Khadgar OTP and Karazhan. (Well, I mean, that had something to do with it, but.) It was just a good read overall. I've read it a few times.

All the other Warcraft books I've read have left me pretty underwhelemed. I've read the Well of Eternity novels, Day of the Dragon, Cycle of Hatred... a couple others? I can't remember. They were meh at best, for me anyway.

Hmm, I'll have to go find those soon. Thank you. Thrall is also one of my favorite characters, so I'm looking forward to reading that one already, just by its title.
