    Default Question about Limit Breaks

So I am finally applying myself to just get this game BEAT finally. It's really, really good so far, but I'm a bit confused about the progression of the limit breaks.

I am on disc 2 (couple hours after getting the Highwind). My characters are all around level 55. So I was wondering why I haven't gotten a new limit break in a while for anyone. So I thought maybe I wasn't fulfilling the requirements, as sometimes they are quite obscure in other FF games XD. But after searching, I found out that for the 3 main characters I use (Cloud, Barret, and Tifa), the requirement is to just kill enemies. (80 for some, 115 for Cloud, I think.) Well, I have fought hundreds of battles so far, if not thousands... and I have most definitely killed the required amount of enemies to get to the level 2 limit breaks...

Has this happened to anyone else? Is there something that I might be doing wrong? I have gotten a few level 4 limit breaks for some of the characters, as I am starting to complete sidequests now... but I can't have them learn them because they don't even have their level 2 lol. Any help??

    Thanks so much!

Well, to get a character's second, fourth, and six limits, you must use their first, third, and fifth, respectively, a certain amount of times. To get their third and fifth, they must kill a certain number of enemies with the killing blow(no killing blow means that it did not count). Then, the seventh one is an item they must use when they have all other six. Also, as far as I know, you cannot earn level 3 limit breaks until you equip your level 2 limits. In order to do this, you go into the menu, choose limit, go to select, and choose your level 2 section instead of level 1. If you've done all of this, then I'm out of ideas, but AFAIK this is all there is to it anyways.

i think the limits in this game are verry anoying.
once u have 2nd level limits u cant use them at the same time as lvl 1 limits
I find that really anoying becaus (for example) Yuffie has a healing-limit-thing in lvl 1, but also a verry good one @ lvl 2 (i dont now wich one anymore, its been a while) and i want/need both of them D:

Yes I think you probably just haven't set them yet. Like mentioned, go into your menu and choose Limit and set the limits to the next section if the one that's selected has two limit breaks.
Google it if you can't figure it out xD
If not maybe give them all hypers and go around fighting monsters.

I have a very useful link that for some reason no one else has bothered to think about linking:

Limit Breaks - What They Do - Final Fantasy VII - Eyes on Final Fantasy - FF7

Its the Eyes On Final Fantasy front site, the reason this site came into being, and also has a list of all the main Final Fantasy games, shame on you people who did not think to suggest this.

Eyes on Final Fantasy has a... Front Site? You mean it's not just a forum?

    EDIT: Crap, I think we're breaking EoFF's 4th wall.
