If you play through Dissidia 012 then the story will make a lot more sense. Also remember that the 10 destiny odysseys all happen at the same time, so many of those cut-scenes are shown out of order. An example is if you play through Bartz's story before Zidane's, you will be scratching your head wondering how Bartz even got to where he is.
