I'm shocked there has been no thread about this awesome looking game yet.

To me it looks sort of like FF4Warriors but with a darker style.

The name is pretty lame though, and I hope it gets a change in NA.

Actually, I just read a rumor before posting this that this is the sequel to FF4Warriors. It would be smarter of them to get that "FF" back into the title. :/

Is this the Akihiko Yoshida title? Cause the artwork looks mad-Yoshida-esque. Framerate looks solid and the presentation has a classic RPG flair to it. I'm feeling it! In 3D, too? The 3DS might have its first game worthwhile for me to pick up. Hot!

Kinda hopin it's not supposed to be a 4Warriors sequel... we need some new IPs dammit, there's plenty of systems to make inexepensive yet awesome original games on these days.

Well, I suspect it is. On the official site it keeps mentioning that you are a "Hero of Light"

But like Roogle mentioned above, I think FF4H is akin to FFAdventure with this game being akin to secret of mana. The first game (which really had little to do with Final Fantasy anyway) sets up a spinoff series.

I also just found out the title is even stupider than I thought: Bravely Default: Flying Fairy. Oy vey. I think there's come Engrish going on in there. I suspect at the very least they meant Bravery Default, meaning "Courageous By Nature" or something like... "LionHeart"... They better come up with a better title.

Really? To each their own, but the moment I saw the trailer and saw how extremely old school FF it was (but with modern graphics) I wanted a 3Ds. Well, I wanted a 3Ds when I saw the first trailer for super mario 3D land.

Can't view the link at work, but just the thought of a new game using the FFV job system sounds amazing. 4Heroes closest resembled the FFIII job system so this would be a logical evolution.

The link basically just says that Tomoya Asano says it will use a job system and a battle system similar to FFV and that it is a "standard RPG" with random encounters and turn based battle.

Basically it's a brand new FF in the old style but with modern graphics! so excited!

He also goes on to say that for the scenario they are working with brand new people whom have never worked with squeenix before.

The FF5-like job system is perhaps the most interesting thing I've heard about this game. It still won't justify buying a 3DS for me though.

KH3D is pretty much why I will probably pick up a 3DS sometime in the future. This game does sound interesting though.

Interesting, but i don't think it will match FFV's job system if they use "crown system" and Action Points. but 2D backdrops + 3D could be something else. :o

Edit : BTW Tsubasa Masao is in charge of character designs for this game and Lord of Apocalypse (PSP/Vita).

Possibly the most amazing use of AR cards I've seen. To bring a life sized girl (and she's rendered in pretty high detail too) out like that and even have her run is pretty amazing. Definitely looking forward to this one.
