I did two years of Japanese as part of my education when I was in Form 1 & 2 - that is, when I was around ten to twelve years old. I learned how to write some Japanese, how to sing some of the songs, how to have conversations, stuff like that. I think it even included talking with a Japanese student who had come over for a school trip and did not know much if any English, and we had to sit together and have conversations for an hour. That was a truly awesome day.
How much Japanese to I remember? I can spot a few of the kanji (?) like 'a' and 'u' and 'o' and 'i'... not 'e' for some reason. I forget which that one is. And I can count. And I can say "Hello, how are you?" and "I'm fine, thanks. How about you?" and "I'm fine, thanks." =| Heh. I think I may also remember how to say either what my phone number is or what my name is. Watashi wa denwa bongo... which is that? Name? Phone? I forget. xD But yeah. I would love to learn languages but I have a terrible memory when it comes to foreign words. I learned Spanish while on holiday in Menorca and was putting together sentences without much help by the end of the trip (although it turns out the Learn Spanish thing on the Nintendo DS has 'plate' listed as some word which actually means 'tray', so they should fix that xD). But now? I've forgotten everything I learned. =[ I know no Spanish once again. I'm terrible at this stuff.
