Maybe I need to fight more dragons, but the NPCs always talk about the dragon I just killed when I fight them near towns. It's always "absorbed its soul" this and "can't believe my eyes" that with these people. They stop saying anything else until I leave.![]()
After being ordained the Mages College's new Ach-Mage I decided to start my hunt for the fabled dragon priest masks and made the long journey back to Shearpoint to kill Krosis. What do I see upon arriving but a previously slain dragon perched up on the Word Wall. I kill it again just to eliminate the threat, and for some reason it gives me another soul. Kind of weird, but I'm too nervous and excited to question it. Just another soul to strengthen me in the upcoming battle.
Then I see him, outlined against the dark black of the Word Wall. Krosis. A long fight breaks out. After an entire store of health potions is depleted, and all my reserves of magicka are drained, I finally smite my foe and claim my prize. Then I turn around to loot those precious scales and bones and... where's the dragon body? I search everywhere, but there's no body to be found anywhere on this gods forsaken mountain. A lone fox foolishly makes its way onto the bloodstained battlefield and in my anger I launch it off the mountaintop in a fiery blaze.
I can hear the Word Wall chanting taunts at me as I sullenly reload my last save.
Lucky you, I've gotten the glitch where I kill a dragon and I don't get a smurfing soul.
I don't know what kind of build you're using or if you've already beaten Krosis again, but it's actually pretty easy if you can lure him off the cliff behind the Word Wall and trout him with arrows or magic from atop the cliff.
From what I hear, you don't get the dragon's soul if you've killed it once already. I killed the dragon at Bonestrewn Crest again last night and it didn't even decay, let alone give me a soul. I'm quite content as long as I get bones and scales out of the exchange.
I already killed Krosis again. Apparently I saved right after killing the dragon, but don't remember doing so. Checked the chest nearby and there was a staff of ice storm in it so I spammed the crap out of him with it.
Christ, I remember Krosis. Prick. I was just wondering around when I saw a dragon on top of a mountain and thought "My genocidal rampage shall never be dampened, no matter how high the mountain". I got up there, at which point the dragon ice breathed a load of health off. I saved, knowing this wasn't going to be the usual kind of slaying. As I'm dodging about, blinded by the ice, I notice that I have died. smurfing Krosis.
I remember Krosis, but I don't remember him being difficult & I can't have been more then level 10-12 when I fought him! What I do remember is fighting the dragon then Krosis coming out of nowhere to try to sneak attack me to death. Thanks to Whirlwind Sprint & some blunt force trauma to the face I made light work of him.
I had a similar experience when I first fought that smurf. Except I'm a nord so Frost Dragons don't do much to me.After killing that smurfing dragon though, Krosis pops out of his stupid coffin and proceeding to blast me with fire all the way to Oblivion. I was glad when he fell of the ledge and I could just take potshots at him.
You're surprised that commercial titles have outsold games meant for a more core market? No, I mean what? I don't understand how could that happen? Seriously? Yes I'm being sarcastic.
Commercial games franchises such as Lego, Barbie, Disney, Harry Potter, Pokemon, Call of Duty, EA Sports will always outsell more core titles and franchises such as Starcraft, Halo, Uncharted, Gears of War, Assassins Creed and so forth. It's called marketing, Wii sports is the biggest single selling title to date? As pointed out previously, sold with the Wii console, never seperately so not really buying the game. Kinect Adventures is the second best 360 game of all time? Uh, same story as Wii Sports bro, it's packaged with the Kinect sensor bar and Kinect sensor bundled 360 console. Both of which are in massive popularity right now since essentially it's easier and better than a Wii ever was.
I think the point I'm trying to make though is this; Get off your soap box about something so obvious. In fact, if these commercial franchises were not outselling the more core titles and a core title was the top selling franchise, I would be more worried. Why would that bother me? It'd mean no one is buying games anymore like they do at the moment and that would be bad because these commercial franchises are the bread and butter of the games market allowing developers to produce these core titles we enjoy because they know they can break even on the bread and butter side.
Okay I am a magey imperial lady person. Any tips for a first time Elder Scrolls player?
Don't loot everything you see because then you'll end up carrying too much!
Don't loot everything you see until you get a follower, then you can make them pick it up with their (possibly) limitless carrying capacity. You have to actually have them pick it up using the command function though. It's what I do.![]()
Loot everything, and then drop things with a crap Money-Weight ratio. That ratio should increase as you get access to better stuff. For instance, always pick up enchanted robes because the bulk of them are 100+ gold and only 1 weight.
or just find one gold bar, exchange it for two rings worth 400 each that weigh .1.
This post brought to you by the power of boobs. Dear lord them boobs. Amen
Also rings and necklaces and stuff. Loot those.
