I'm starting a day late, because yesterday I just didn't have a chance to make this thread. Things got busy.

It's time once again for the monthly photo contest. Last month's winner was zorander, and as is his style he's chosen an abstract theme to give Del a peptic ulcer.

I give you the theme (SPOILER)

So take a picture of something you've always dreamed of having, or make a weird sculpture out of pipes, snap a picture, and name it "pipe dreams". Take a picture of animals sleeping. That's cute all the time. Have fun!

You have 15 days from now to get the picture in. After that comes a 5 day window for everyone to vote for their favorite. Good luck.

Dreams... what a weird theme

I like it, although...it's kind of an ambiguous topic for photography. I have a picture of a banana. I dreamed of giant cat-eating bananas last night, so I turn in my banana picture. I take it, though, in this context to be somewhat analogous to Fantasy.

EDIT: We have our first shot! The sound of the ocean in a seashell does take the mind away from where it is.


Create a weird, screwy dreamscape and snap a picture of it. Take a picture of someone dreaming. Take a picture of something you always dreamed of having.

It should be a fun one.

It's interesting to note, zorander loves the abstract themes and Del Murder likes simple themes. zorander has never won an abstract theme, and Del's victory was from an abstract theme.

I hope Del tries something this time. Those two make for fun competitors to watch.

I find the Abstract themes to be more of a creative challenge, and usually more interesting than say "Kittens".

Abstract themes are easy. Just take a picture of anything.

I'll use your own picture as an argument against you as it showed clever thought being put into the theme, combined with a good choice of subject matter and photography skills.

Someone CAN just take a picture of anything to participate, but someone who wants to win will need to try.
