Doesn't surprise me, they're all good games. I wish Chrono Cross would jump on to the Australian store.

Really awesome, I hope this sends a message to Square to release more although they've done a pretty commendable job already. I wonder if all those people who bought CT and this month's FFVI feel jipped though with the load times

There's probably no way to know, but I'm really curious if the purchases are being made by old-timey Squaresoft fans or newer gamers curious about these PS1 classics.

Also, I feel compelled to buy these even though I actually own a lot of them on disc.

Hey Square, how about you do a BRAND NEW GAME that's similar to these? Clearly people still like this stuff.

I don't think they heard you. You should probably add bold to your caps.

Surprised me because I thought we were in the minority in terms of taste in video games.

But I think we are in the majority of the market that is interested in 10+ year old games.

More like this is just showing that people are desperate for a good RPG fix, and most of those games can do it.

I really need to jump back into some PS1 classic RPGs. I played a lot of them but also missed a lot because there were so many. Next year looks to be pretty barren for me in terms of new releases, so maybe I'll start jumping back in soon-ish.

Yeah there were so many. I posted months ago asking what the best newer rpgs were, since I hadn't played rpgs in years, just assuming that the trend of awesome rpgs had,of course, continued. Imagine my disappointment. It's a little sad. Oh well. I just wish there were some boutique developer making games like they used to. Unfortunately the video game industry really is a victim of its own success. Hopefully, this is just a trend. Trends come and go. Just imagine a game like FF6 (or 7 or 9) or Chrono Trigger, i.e. story, gameplay etc., but with a modern graphics engine. It could be such a beautiful thing. But for now there are still a host of old games I haven't played so I still have my PS3 to play old PS1 games. seems a little odd, but oh well.

Things are looking good for Square Enix for December 2011.
    Top PSone Classics:
    1) FINAL FANTASY VI – Part of Square-Enix’s ‘Winter of RPGs’, Final Fantasy VI jumped to the top of the charts in its December release.
    2) FINAL FANTASY VII
    3) CHRONO CROSS
    4) FINAL FANTASY V
    5) Crash Bandicoot

PS. To any Ciddies/Admins can you please take November edition out of the title of the thread. I'll just update this one thread with charts going forward.

Do they ever release sales numbers to go along with those 'top x' rankings?

No, they dont usually release Sales figures. These are provided by the PS Blog. Maybe Square Enix might release sales figure, other than that you can wait for the Financial report from SONY and take an estimated stab at it. Keep in mind, NPD doesn't track digital downloads.
