This was the first party amongst our friends where people were allowed to bring their children, which I think kept anyone from becoming hilariously wasted. Still a good party, but not as good when no one ends up looking like a pile of sadness in a corner.

I got moderately drunk with my cousin and uncle. We watched Fringe, then the countdown. Then we talked about family stuff until 4am. It wasn't excited or crazy but it was nice.

Standard NYE in the slums. Fewer people out than normal due to having no money after tightening of dole rules, women purging in urinals, rain, roiders. The obligatory bar brawl kicked off in a kebab shop across the road this time, which was a particular highlight. It turned out I have the guy who started it as a friend on Facebook. I don't think he remembers it.

I went to a concert/party at a hotel. It was pretty sweet. Saw some great local bands. I got kinda all dressed up and showed off my beautiful wife. Didn't get drunk though, because the lines for the bars were way to long. 4 drinks in 5 hours. Such long lines that I missed a bands whole set waiting for a durned drink.

Got high with some friends and watched the Gumby movie. I also drank like six bottles of sparkling grape juice. I love sparkling grape juice.

I went to a Mad Men-themed party*, spent until dawn getting very drunk on wine, champagne and whiskey, smoked three big bowls in a backroom at the party and watched a video on how rocks perceive humankind, watched a turtle hunt a fish in a giant aquarium in a backroom, afterward managing to drink some more and then pass out in my dress and jewelry next to my man and his friend in their suits and ties on a wraparound couch that fit all of us.

Then we woke up and went to a fancy diner and had French toast.

It was awesome.

*As well as wearing 60s suits, ties and dresses, this apparently meant that the man had to be sexist and look at the female partyers as slutty secretaries?

I was high as balls this entire weekend. I also helped to cook delicious food such as gourmet spicy buffalo chicken and bacon three cheese Mac & Cheese and deep dish pizza. I also played copious amounts of shoot-em-ups.
