I just learned that I set a new lap record for my class at Charlotte Motor Speedway during that race back in August. No one racing in my class of car has ever gone as fast at that track. I'm as shocked as anyone.

Of course the people running the event had the car under my father's name, so he gets credit. At least I know it was me.

I can't say I've done much lately. I suppose I played a game of Warhammer 40K last night. 1600 points of my Tyranid army teamed with 1400 points of a friends Tau army against 3000 points of Grey Knights. Not being turned into a smear on the tabletop would have been impressive enough, but we actually won.

If no one else here plays 40K, you can applaud me now.

I've already posted this in another thread but I thought I'd stick it here as it seemed more appropriate.

I was fortunate enough to play at the London O2 Arena in January of 2011. I got to the Grand Final of the Open Mic UK 2010 competition. There were around 10'000 applicants and I got down to the final 70 acts in London.

I didn't win but managed to come 3rd in the voting. I just wasn't picked by the judges at the end. Anyhoo... here I am at the 02 Arena (bricking it!). We were only supposed to have three-and-a-half minutes but I may have gone over by 30 seconds or so!

I stepped into a role three paygrades above my own this week and did my boss's job. I like to think I did a good job. We got a lot more done than he expected of us, and I was doing my job on top of doing his job.
