"According to Nomura, the latest Final Fantasy Versus XIII images look more expressive than what was shown in last year's trailer.

Square Enix is increasing the number of real-time cutscenes in the game. Currently, the ratio of real-time to pre-rendered CG cutscenes is seven to three. Some scenes are pre-rendered, such as when Noctis Lucis Caelum meets Stella, when it doesn't interfere with the gameplay. At one time, this scene was rendered in real-time for a trailer.

"While we're not planning any sort of Final Fantasy Versus XIII event this year, I would like to do some sort of announcement," Nomura apparently said in a leaked Famitsu. Nomura that added instead of simply showing a new trailer, he wants to show the game running on game hardware."

So we aren't even getting an 'event' this year? So that means the game is still like two years from release? Is Versus Japanese for Forever or something?

I agree. I'm not a fan of these long turnaround times for games. I think that they used to be more low-key and secretive about games in development in the 1990's, maybe releasing some concept artwork or a screenshot to a magazine every year or so until the game was complete?

I don't want to read news about that it is 10% complete. I want news that it will be released very soon. And then the next Final Fantasy VII can be published. It has been 4 years that Final Fantasy VII is said not to be over yet and I still don't have any information about what is planned. A sequel must be done, of course. With Genesis and Sephiroth whose existence core is still there. But I don't complain when there is also a Remake. However, I finally want to read something about it.
