I did not really care for Bioshock and thought it was actually a pretty bad game. They story and way they constructed it was pretty damn good but I am playing a game, not reading a book. I need the gameplay to be there in full force and I felt it was not. I basically waged a pointless war of attrition with the wrench until victory was mine. I also didn't think the graphics were the bees knees (those character models were down right hideous!).
Having said that it sounds like 1999 mode in infinite will solve all of my problems. No more war of attrition, less ammo, less health and apparently classes to choose if I understand this correctly. It will be hard and there will be consequences for how you choose to play the game. Die too much then you will be low on cash and might have to attempt a more stealth approach.
Details are still shrouded in mystery but this actually has me excited for the game when I was already being quite dismissive of this game from the start. But this whole thing got me thinking...are there any other games out there that could benefit from a Hardcore style mode where you can lose and have to restart from an earlier save?
My mind is a blank right now so I will say two games that I think could use a hardcore mode, the Assassins Creed series and of course Ninja Gaiden because as we all know that series is WWWAAAAYY too easy =D
