Have you ever thought someone is definitely one gender due to their avatar being manly or feminine? I know I have. I unconsciously register people who have female avatars as girls unless they state the opposite.

This post brought to you by the power of boobs. Dear lord them boobs. Amen
i don't trust people on the internet enough to think one way or the other or anything in between, just based on the avatars, but it's certainly caused me to be mistaken for something else
edit: i mean it's not a requirement that your avatar matches you as a person in any way, so i try not to let it guide me.
The first two years I was here I thought BoB was actually a chocobo, I thought Jojee was actually a monkey, and I thought Leeza was a cartoon cat.

There are no girls on the Internet.
There's a reason my custom title used to be "foa's not a little boy!"
Signature by rubah. I think.
In the past there's been a member here or there where the avatar helped a bit in me guessing the wrong gender but most of it comes from their posts themselves.
...
I've been told by several members that they thought I was a girl at first. This probably has more to do with my name than my avatar though.
I usually make that judgement based off of things said in posts. I wouldn't expect people to think I'm R2-D2 based off of my avatar. I sport what I feel best represents my interests, and I keep to the assumption that others do the same.
When I had the pink Ramona Flowers set it happened a few times.
I changed names to avoid that though.
