Default HC's guide to Forum Tags for newbies!

Hypoallergenic Cactuars Wonderful guide to Forum Tags for newbies!
    V.1

    Updated on 2/7/2012

This Guide is to Help New EoFFers learn how to use tags and shortcuts.
If you feel I have overlooked something, PM me the tag. (tables, etc.)
    TAGS----------------------

    SPOILERS--

    example:
    (SPOILER)Hello

    how to create:

[spoiler] What you want to hide [/ spoiler]
    *no spaces*

To give the spoiler a title such as
    Click Me EoFF is awesome
replace the first spoiler tag with:
    [spoiler=TITLE]

To underline the spoiler title use the tag
    [spoiler] Hidey stuff [/ spoiler]
    *no spaces*

    IMAGES--

To add an image you can click on the picture of a landscape at the top of the posting bar or alternatively you can put the web address of the image in the tags:
    [IMG] website [/ IMG]
    with no spaces

Notice that when uploading a picture the Image tags are automatically added.

    VIDEO TAGS--

There are two different tags that are used when embedding videos.

    Use the tag
    [video] embeding link [/ video]
    *no spaces*
Notice that this will not work for Youtube links and some other sites.

To embed a Youtube video, copy the embed code and remove the http and youtube codes from the link, leaving something resembling this
    7ezeYJUz-84
place the code inside youtube tags that look like:
    [youtube] [/ youtube]
    *no spaces*
the end result will look like the following

Note that these embeded videos are best veiwed in any browser except Internet Explorer.

    QUOTE TAGS--

The best way to quote someone is to simply click the quote button at the bottom of the posts, however if you wish to make up a quote or remember what someone said but not where they posted, you can use the tags:
[quote] quote goes here [/ quote]
    with no spaces.

It was a good effort, though.

It was a good effort. Glad to see people trying to help out newbies and whatnot. I know most people these days would be familiar with forums but there's no harm in being overprepared.

They see me rolling. They hating, patrolling.
